ABOUT THE WINE
With a winemaking legacy dating back to 1453, the Nudant family is deeply rooted in Burgundy, now farming 16 hectares of small vineyard parcels across the Côte d’Or. Practising minimal intervention viticulture, all vineyard work is done by hand to preserve the integrity of the terroir. The 2020 Ladoix Rouge is sourced from vines in Ladoix-Serrigny, a lesser-known but high-quality appellation at the northern end of the Côte de Beaune. This wine offers a beautiful expression of Pinot Noir with remarkable finesse and value.
TASTING NOTES
This Ladoix Pinot Noir opens with lively aromas of cranberries, raspberries, and heirloom strawberries. On the palate, red fruit is seamlessly layered with savoury nuances of sage, rosemary, and sautéed chestnut mushrooms. Light yet velvety tannins carry through to a long, elegant finish, making this a fine example of a Burgundy village wine that overdelivers.
FOOD PAIRING
A superb match for confit quail legs, roasted butternut squash, or sage butter gnocchi. Its freshness and savoury complexity also pair well with game birds or mushroom-based dishes.
