Black and Decker BCSTA5362 36v Cordless Grass Trimmer 330mm
The Black & Decker BCSTA53262 is a cordless grass trimmer which runs on a Black & Decker 36v lithium ion battery, meaning it shares battery compatibility with other tools in the range such as lawnmowers, hedge trimmers, chainsaws, leaf blowers and vacuum cleaners. If you already own a Black & Decker 36v battery and charger it is available as a bare tool so you don't have to buy duplicates of them, or it is also available as a complete starter kit with a battery and charger included. The BCSTA53262 has a cutting width of 330mm and an AFS automatic line feed system which keeps the line extended to the correct length during use. The shaft is telescopic so can be adjusted to suit the height of the user, while the head can also be rotated to perform edging applications. Like previous Black & Decker 36v grass trimmers, the BCSTA53262 has high and low power settings so you can ramp up the power to cut through tougher material, or dial it back to conserve battery power during lighter duty grass trimming. However, unlike previous models it is now fitted with an energy efficient brushless motor for longer runtimes, with no carbon brushes to wear out during the course of the machines lifetime. Battery AH Explained
The best way to describe battery amp hour is that this is effectively the size of your fuel tank, the more amp hours your battery has then the longer the battery will last between charges. More amp hours does not increase the power of a given tool.
Battery Voltage Explained
A tool with a higher voltage than another is a bit like choosing an engine in a car, the higher voltage will generally mean higher power & performance. Solid and dependable
Having owned a previous Black & Decker model (54v twin cord) I chose the latest model which was based on it in preference over completive trimmers. The new model is lighter, easier to handle and equally as powerful as its predecessor. Also the single cord cassette is much easier to install than the twin cord. I am impressed by the quality of the product and its performance. To my mind this is good value for money.
Excellent
My Purchase of the strimmer was very good, nice & light, makes a difference when strimming a lot. The height can be adjusted, to get just the right height, I had the 36v which lasts for ages, I also bought an extra battery, but I've only used it once for a bit. It was so good when I had finished, I looked around to see if there was anything else I could strim. Well worth buying.
I have used this strimmer on a range a grasses and it has performed exactly as I wanted it. Since I have a B&D cordless mower that came with three batteries I have no issue charge capacity. Excellent product for my jobs.
The trimmer was bought to replace my broken trimmer (over 8 years old). The new trimmer is excellent. I had previously bought a new battery as well as a new charger so it was very convenient to be able to purchase just the trimmer. I understand that this is the only company that sells the trimmers without batteries and chargers.
