We needed to make a game item for a children's party, the practical choice of material was heavy duty corrugated cardboard that needed to be robustly assembled for multiple use! High temperature hot melt adhesive was the obvious choice of joining material and a hobby melt gun on the end of a power lead was not going to be practical due to size and working space needed, so we bought a Bosch 18v dual temperature cordless hot melt glue gun which enabled us to complete the assembly on time and that could withstand enthusiastic use! The item is very well made like the rest of our 18v tools, very easy to select temperature range, short warm up period and performs really well with both high temperature glue sticks and low temperature ones.

More expensive than other models but it does have two heat settings and build quality is of the usual Bosch standard. One battery fits many Bosch tools is also an advantage. The gun heats up quickly and the hot glue doesn't drip when the gun is standing awaiting use.

This is so much better than cheaper Glue Guns, both in terms of the amount of Glue it can pump out and the higher temperature that causes better adhesion. I wish it had a temperature dial rather than just 2 preset temperatures, but that's a minor complaint. It could also be smaller I guess for squeezing into really tight spaces, but that hasn't been an issue for me. Also, some different nozzle choices for if one wants higher flow rates or much more precision would also be cool, maybe for a V2 perhaps. Such a shame these are quite hard to find, they're turn hot glue from a rarely used to daily use for me.

Finally got around to using this gun, over all I was quite impressed. Heats up very quickly and the glue flow is quite good dependant on how hard you apply pressure to the trigger. Its light weight and easy to handle. My only complaint would be that once the glue stick is inserted into the gun there is no way to remove it. So once you have a stick in the gun you can no longer fit it back in its box. But apart for that it’s a good bit of kit and it easily handled the few jobs I have done with it.
