Battery AH Explained
The best way to describe battery amp hour is that this is effectively the size of your fuel tank, the more amp hours your battery has then the longer the battery will last between charges. More amp hours does not increase the power of a given tool.
Battery Voltage Explained
A tool with a higher voltage than another is a bit like choosing an engine in a car, the higher voltage will generally mean higher power & performance. Not a great deal to say it does a great job particularly in the more intricate areas.
Makes light work of sanding, surprisingly powerful. Gets into corners with useful attachment. Good value for money with quality build.
l put the sander in to immediate use, preparing a wooden side gate prior to putting a preservative treatment on the gate. I fitted the newly charged battery on the sander, and I completed the job without having to change the battery. There is plenty of power in the sander and it coped brilliantly, as good as a mains sander but without the hassle of mains wires. Can thoroughly recommend the sander.
Exactly what I needed. Ordered and delivered brilliantly and easily!
I chose Black and Decker because I already had a B&D 18V battery and charger and could purchase the sander alone. I've been using it to prepare wooden window frames prior to oiling. It has performed well and it has been very helpful to have a cordless machine. It is supplied with 3 mesh sanding sheets that work better than traditional papers, I wish this had been explained in the website.
