Purchased these boots in early January for work. As a school caretaker I average 12,000 steps each day so these boots were recommended.
Comfy boots but the soles have worn smooth in places already.
These boots should not be sold as walking boots. They are solid with no give in the sole and feel like concrete. 19 mile hike destroyed my feet. They are more of a mountain boot. Feet stayed very dry.
These are a dry weather boot only.
My first pair leaked badly within 1 month, they were replaced by Berghaus who admitted the Goretex failed their test.
My 2nd pair also leak badly,
Disappointing.
Quality product
Actually a brilliant set of boots, very comfy.
Heavy, cumbersome and laces constantly loosen. Rand has split away from upper after 13 months daily dog walking in lowland terrain. They have been fully waterproof which is their redeeming feature.
I have had these about two years now and walk regularly. They are in a worse state than the Zamberlains l have had for over 20 years. The issue is low grade leather. Do not buy.
It’s so sad that such a great boot was ruined when It was supposed to be redefined and updated. There was not a single thing wrong with the original Brasher Hillmaster 2 gtx boots. Why change them!!
Great quality and very good service
Comfortable, durable and pretty
The fit is terrible if you have wider feet. I tried both the 11 (way too big) and the 10 (way too small). Laces are very cheap. Berghaus seem to follow others in declining quality.
2 years old. Very pleased with them. I have done about 4000 miles and the heels and soles are worn flat. Stitching in the heel is going but wearable. Totally waterproof still. Will replace with same!
Seems to be very mixed reviews. Love them so far very strong, comfortable & waterproof, sturdy boot. I walk 4-6 miles a day typically through wet fields, grass, mud & they're perfect.
Having tired of getting wet feet with so called waterproof textile boots I thought I would try these "old style" boots. A bit heavier but they are comfortable & sturdy and so far totally waterproof
I have had two pares of these in a few months and both pares left leaked. Go Outdoors were great and swapped them no issue. Boots 1 out of 5 - Go Outdoors 5 out of 5. I have now tried another brand
After 2-3 months of light walking in lowland country the rand gradually separated from the leather upper. A replacement pair while equally comfortable are deteriorating in the same way.
Bought these about four years ago. Very comfortable, still fully waterproof, but tread on soles has worn really badly, so will not buy a replacement pair...
bought for light use on local trails, rand has started to pull away and has damaged the leather, letting in water. After owning an original Hillmaster boots for 8 years these are very disappointing.
I bought these boots as my Scarpa Terra boots were starting to feel uncomfortable. These are a good, sturdy boot that have taken the worst the Peak District and Scafell Pike has to offer.
Happy
Bought pair 20mths ago. Retired and walk miles across marshes most days these are the first boots I have ever owned that are still waterproof. I have tried many other makes which all leak.
