Makita DDG460 18v LXT Cordless Brushless Earth Auger
Part of the Makita LXT range, the DDG460 is a cordless 36v earth auger which is powered by two 18v LXT batteries simultaneously. The included auger bit adaptors can be used to connect existing auger bits from petrol machines, and a variety of design features help to ensure maximum safety and control when using the machine: the DDG460 has two gears with forward and reverse, a variable speed trigger and a torque limiter which is designed to prevent violent kickback if the bit jams. The soft start motor and electric brake mean the machine starts up smoothly without jolting, and switches off rapidly as soon as the trigger is released. Additionally, Makita's ATD Automatic Torque Drive technology automatically changes the cutting speed according to load condition to help ensure consistent performance. Battery AH Explained
The best way to describe battery amp hour is that this is effectively the size of your fuel tank, the more amp hours your battery has then the longer the battery will last between charges. More amp hours does not increase the power of a given tool.
Battery Voltage Explained
A tool with a higher voltage than another is a bit like choosing an engine in a car, the higher voltage will generally mean higher power & performance. As with cars though a bigger engine does not always translate to better performance so it is important to compare the specifications of tools at different voltages between different manufacturers.
