FAQs:
What is an ND Filter?
Neutral Density or ND filters allow you to increase your exposure time. Neutral filtration works by placing a dark-coloured filter in front of your lens, reducing the amount of light that enters the lens but without detriment to colour accuracy or image quality. By reducing the amount of light entering the camera, you can use slower shutter speeds without overexposing the image.
What do the different ND numbers mean?
In this series, Kase offers ND8, ND64 and ND1000. These numbers signify to what amount of light is reduced from entering your lens and therefore, how much slower you can drop the shutter speed or open up the aperture. Within this series, the ND8 equals 3 stops, ND64 to 6 stops and the ND1000 to 10 stops.
