Description
Bright scarlet and dazzling white petals create a bold contrast in summer perennial borders. This reliable hardy perennial is similar to the well-known variety ‘Red Hobbit’, but with taller stems rising above its delicate foliage. Aquilegia ‘Red Dream’ thrives in sun or part shade, adding a bright splash of colour to herbaceous borders, woodland gardens and wildlife areas, where they will attract attention from pollinating insects. Plant them together to create a dramatic drift that will gradually spread, year after year. Like all Columbines, they also make great cut flowers! Height: 70cm (28"). Spread: 45cm (18").

How to Grow
Pot up aquilegia plants and grow them on in frost free conditions until large enough to plant outdoors. Grow aquilegias in sun or part shade in any fertile, moist, well drained soil.
More Info
Columbines hybridize readily. If seedlings are not wanted, deadhead faded aquilegia flowers to prevent them self seeding. Aquilegias dislike disturbance but overcrowded clumps may be lifted and divided in spring when necessary.Caution: irritant to skin and eyes, harmful if eaten.
