A brilliant upgrade/alternative to the Trangia system. No faults at all. I use mine with a Firebox nano wood stove. It can use all three fuel types and this Trangia gas burner fits it perfectly.
Fantastic bit of kit. I ordered this as a single item along with a few other types of stoves for my D of E group. I wanted to show them a variety of stoves and how weather conditions can alter the choice of stove.
WOW wish i had ordered more of these. I cant recommend them highly enough.
Wind Proof inside the trangia system., Fast burning so better than gel/liquid fuel. Light weight and will pack easily inside the trangia as the size is very compact.
i will buy this product again. Great value great product.
There is a benefit to this converter that no one else has mentioned!
I regularly go on camping trips to Europe and North America and since flying with fuel is a no-no, the first thing to do on arrival is to stock up with food and fuel for the stove - compatible gas cylinders are available in every outdoor store and many larger supermarkets - but try and track down meths! You first have to work out what the Americans call meths and then find somewhere that stocks it.
On top of that, I find that a trangia fitted with a gas burner is much easier to control, faster and cleaner (no risk of contaminating the stove or anything else with the smell of meths). I don't bother with the trangia kettle as you can boil water in one of the pans, in which case I can fit both the burner and the handle inside the stove for transport.
People have commented that you have to carry a gas cylinder but that's no worse than a Sigg fuel bottle filled with meths.
In short, since buying the gas burner, I've never used meths in my stove and can't think of any reason why I would.
I bought this for use when camping out of the car, performs better than meths and on a Trangia 27 it will boil the kettle in around two minutes. But beware compared to the meths burner this is a jet engine, when I went to pickup the kettle it had melted the handle. This resulted in burns to my fingers so be aware when using it is very powerful bit of kit. I have only given five stars as I am not impressed with the damage to my kettle and the burns to my fingers, but the burner is very good.
Great stove. Feel safer using it than the cheap Chinese one I had. I will say that the hose is quite shout and causes C500 size bottles to lean/topple which in itself can be dangerous.
