The LTM5 is the Airflo® version of our LT5 Hat. It has a semi-sloping front and back brim and a relatively high crown.

BALD HEAD WARNING
DO NOT buy an Aiflo if you are bald your head WILL BURN as I found out today (7/5/18).
If you want a Tilley Hat and you are bald get a solid crown version as I'm going to gave to, a regular duck cotton T5 is what I'll get and now and keep the Airlo for night time wear as it is defintly not a sun hat for my poor, burnt bald bonce any more
These hats are quality but an Airlo for a baldy is a big NO NO.
2 stars from me as my head is burnt but I appreciate the quality so I have to mark it up a bit.

summer hat
I have this as a second summer hat- second to the Outback. I don't know if it is just me becoming attached to my other hat (don't laugh if you haven't got one, it happens easily!) but I don't like this one as much. having said that, I would be perfectly happy with this one as my only summer hat.

Tilley LTM5 - Much Ado about Something
Once you get over the shock of the hefty price tag, you won't have anything to complain about with this high quality Tilley hat.
This hat comes in many sizes, separated by one-eighth of an inch gradations, so it would be best to visit a store and try before you buy for a precision fit.
Remember to remove the owner's manual from the secret pocket in the crown to ensure a proper fit. It's a pity the shop assistants (two of them!) didn't know that detail in the first place.
Superior quality hat. It even has front and rear wind straps which can be tucked away when not needed. Not all hats have that safeguard!

Worth the extra
On the face of it the Tilley hats are quite pricey compared to other sun hats however when you actually compare them in the flesh the quality of the Tilley shows through. Properly sized unlike having to guess at a M/L or L/XL. Worth paying a bit more for.

Comfortable and keeps shape and dare I say, stylish. A bit draughty in the cold wind so keep room for a Bandanna. Protection against the rain and sun is top class. So far so good.
