The Hi Gear Typhoon Waterproof Overtrousers are a lined overtrouser made with a 3M Teflon coated polyester shell, that are very hardwearing but thin enough to comfortably fit layers underneath.
The elasticated waistband means that they fit every shape and can be adjusted for comfort.
They have one useable pocket and one through pocket so you can reach inside to get those non-waterproof items out.
With a 3/4 leg zip, you won't have to remove your boots to get them on and you can ventilate if the temperature is warm, but the weather's wet.
Also available from Hi Gear are the Typhoon Short Overtrousers and Typhoon Long Overtrousers.
I bought these for my daughters Dofe practise this weekend and am bitterly disappointed. They are Not waterproof but just showerproof. Rubbish for British weather!
Disappointing buy. I purchased these back in the summer when attempting the Welsh 3000s and thank goodness I didn’t need to use them. I put them on yesterday on a walk up the black mountains and it tipped down with around 50+mph wind. Within about 20 minutes the water soaked through and I was drenched. Good job I had spare clothes as we were climbing 3 mountains in one day and if I hadn’t of taken spares I would have been very wet and cold for the day.
The main reason for buying this pair was because my others were a complete pain to get on and off over my boots,( some might blame my size 12's,) These are very much easier to use due to 3/4 length gusset/zip and some Velcro tabs to tidy it all up. Last but not least, as it says on the label, they do keep the water out.
I bought these to wear by themselves during wet summers and to put over my other clothes during wet weather the rest of the year. I found them easy to put on over my other clothes. There is an "open pocket" to allow access to items in the pocket of any trousers worn underneath, which is a useful feature. There is also an insulated version of these trousers, which I also bought to wear by themselves in winter.
For the money they are great and are fit for purpose
I recommend this item because it is perfect for active outdooring - trousers are very comfortable not only for walking but, most importantly, for kneeling and climbing (foraging and digging). They are of a durable matrial so small thorns and stones (if you kneel on them) wont damage it. Easy to care after a muddy day out, too. Happy with the purchase, will buy more of the same maker clothing
I bought these for general use, walking the dog in rain and walking holidays to replace the Stowaway pair I had where the waterproof inner seam came away.
These aren’t much more than the stowaway but get a much better product for the money. The fact you can extend the trouser legs by a zip and Velcro is a brilliant feature. You can still get to your inner trouser pocket but only on one side.the other is an actual pocket. I would have preferred it on both.
Highly recommend these.
These are fantastic value for money they are comfortable and 100% water proof
really helped our son with his Kayaking, kept him warm dry and comfortable.
great value . good product would buy same type again and the member of staff that helped me was very helpfull and pleasant
Excellent product would buy again
Thank you
I have had a pair of these waterproofs for over 12 months,I work in transport and security industry, during the week I drive class 1 hgv vehicles and wear them every day as protective clothing over my regular trousers as most of my work is wet and messy, and at the weekends i work security on raves and festivals, and these trousers are ideal for that kind of work also, they look smart over my normal trousers and they are loose enough and very comfortable to boot, ticking all the boxes for what i need in a pair of waterproofs,i would recommend them to anyone looking to buy waterproofs for their work or any other use
Haven't used them much yet, but seem pretty good. They're a lot thicker/bulkier than I was expecting, much more padded than simple anorak material. Warning though, I ordered the medium size and they are absolutely huge, I would think they were XL sort of size, so if in doubt order a smaller pair than usual
I bought these for use on a farm, so far so good, kept me dry n warm, whilst sorting thro 1000+ sheep, jetting trailer out, where I usually get soaked, but have to say I was still dry, have purchased several types of waterproof trousers, but these were great easy to work. Would def buy more if n when needed
Bought to keep me dry when travelling by scooter in rain to work and back. Last week was doing 30 MPH on scooter through torrential downpour and when I took them off at home I was bone dry underneath. Excellent product for price.
These waterproof trousers are excellent I am really impressed I work in forestry haulage so I spend a lot of time outdoors for the cost of these I am totally amazed how dry they do keep me
