Waterproof option

I checked this range before purchasing and was worried about the waterproof claim. Go for the RT Manitoba jacket - brilliant WATERPROOF jacket. A little more £ than Ontario but well worth it!

Great jacket as long as you don't get wet. It holds water like a wool jumper . Which makes it useless in the UK.

Eventually found exactly what I was looking for, in a store locally. I tried it on before purchasing it. The jacket is good quality and perfect for my needs.

Make it waterproof and be a happy fisherman

This wonderful jacket is indeed not waterproof.
BUT
Just invest 10-15 pounds in barbour wax, smear it conscientiously and you have the perfect fishing jacket on earth.
Bee wax is as efficient, and cheaper..

Ron Thompson Jacket

Had this for a couple of years now and love it. I bought it as a birding jacket. Whilst not totally waterproof, it is windproof, and goes over plenty of layers to make a great outer shell, and I like the Velcro cuffs that seal over my gloves to seal out the draft. Love the arms that come off for warm weather (and stuff neatly in the back cargo pocket. But the best thing about this garment is the 17 pockets that pack in everything from drinks bottles, camera, A5 notebook, sarnies, maps. In fact you can spend a day in the field, and carry everything you need without extra baggage. Ok, I had to add my own extra stitching to some pocket seams that gave, but that was only due to excessive use in the field. I'll be picking up another one very soon. At this price, what's not to like.

Great for all the things I wanted it for, however holds more water than my car sponge, just a short shower left me soaked due to the non waterproof properties of this jacket, if you want to stay dry don't buy

Nice jacket unless its raining
3 out of 5

Thought it was a lovely jacket until it rained on my first outing & the water was running down my arms & body from every point after only minutes of raining , had to leave my phone in the car whilst fishing as it would have soaked it ,what's the point of a hooded fishing coat if it cant keep the rain off ?
